ra <br /> CITY OF Minutes <br /> HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> GOAL SETTING WORKSHOP <br /> EST.1906 HUGO CITY HALL <br /> wwwdhugonn.us00 <br /> 14669 Fitzgerald Avenue North•Hugo,MN 55038 TUESDAY,JANUARY 22, 2019— 5 P.M. <br /> Weidt called the meeting to order at 5 p.m. <br /> PRESENT: Haas (via Skype), Klein, Miron, Petryk, Weidt <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> STAFF PRESENT: City Administrator Bryan Bear, Finance Director Ron Otkin, Finance <br /> Coordinator Anna Wobse, Community Development Director Rachel Juba, Parks Planner Shayla <br /> Denaway, City Engineer Mark Erichson , and City Clerk Michele Lindau <br /> Goals for 2018 <br /> City Administrator Bryan Bear reviewed the 2018 goals and long range goals that were created <br /> last year. Many of these goals have been completed and some are still in progress. <br /> Updates from Commissions and Staff <br /> Prior to the Council Goals Setting Workshop, commissions met to discuss their specific goals. <br /> Bear had provided a memo to Council recapping those workshops, and he touched on a few of <br /> the topics. <br /> Planning Commission—The Comprehensive Plan is in the process of being adopted and the <br /> Commission will be working on text amendments. The Planning Commission has new members <br /> who are becoming acclimated and want to know more about meeting procedures. The Parks <br /> Commission has had similar discussions. One goal of the Planning Commission is to host a <br /> session on parliamentary procedures. <br /> Parks Commission- The Commission has worked on the park at Adelaide Landing and <br /> completed their planning on Clearwater Creek Preserve. Plans for Irish Avenue Park are still <br /> being considered. There is a lack of funding for all park needs. Expansion of the trails network <br /> is an ongoing goal. <br /> EDA—Downtown development the EDA's main focus. The restaurant "Cozzies" is not going to <br /> happen. It was noted there has been significant activity along TH61 during the past year. <br /> Discussions are also being had on 165th Street and TH61 corridor. <br /> Historical Commission—The Commission has been evaluating the Hopkins Schoolhouse, and a <br /> committee had been established. An update will be provided at the next Council meeting. They <br /> continue to work on the display for Good Neighbor Days, their social media presence, and <br /> ongoing documentation of City history. <br />
