The workshop called to order by Mayor Weidt at 7 P.M.
The Hugo City Council and Parks Commission held a parks funding workshop to discuss funding
of Community Parks. Shayla Denaway presented the background on City parks and master plans
that have been created. Paul Steinman provided information on how cities can fund park
improvements and survey opportunities. The City Council and Parks Commission discussed parks
usage, phasing and prioritizing of park improvements, and funding options. The Parks
Commission agreed to have further discussions about prioritizing park improvements and wanted
to better understand the costs of the improvements. The City Council agreed they would discuss
park funding options during the budget review process.
