Special meeting called to order by President
Emil Maslowski at 8:10pm.
Roll call of officers Emil Maslowski,
James Letourneau, Walter Marier,
Robert Burkhand present, Clarence Wenzel
absent.
The minutes or extract of minutes
calling for the special meeting
were read and approved.
Motion made and seconded that
Village expend $980 for Cathodic Protection
for water tank.
Extract on following pages.
No other business, meeting was
adjourned at 11:00pm.

EXTRACT OF THE MINUTES OF MEETING
OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF HUGO, MINNESOTA
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting
of the Village Council of the Village of Hugo, Minnesota, was held at
the Village Hall in said Village on Tuesday, May 23, 1961, at 8:00
o'clock P.M., with the following members present: Mayor Maslowski, Trustees
Letourneau, and Marier and Village Clerk Burkard
and the following members absent: Trustee Wenzel
The Clerk presented affidavits of publication of the Notice
of Preliminary Hearings called to be held at this time on Waterwork Im-
provement No. 1961-1, which affidavits were examined, approved and
ordered filed.
The Mayor then announced that the meeting was open for the
purpose of conducting said preliminary hearings; and after all members
of the public present were afforded an opportunity to be heard, the
following persons entered oral or written objections to said improvement:

Member Marier then introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION ORDERING WATERWORKS IMPROVEMENT NO. 1961-1,
APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND DIRECTING THE
MAYOR AND CLERK TO EXECUTE A CHANGE ORDER ADDING SUCH
WORK TO THE PREVIOUSLY AWARDED CONTRACT.
BE IT RESOLVED By the Village Council of the Village of Hugo,
Minnesota, as follows:
(1) Waterworks Improvement No. 1961-1 is hereby ordered;
(2) The plans and specifications heretofore prepared by Howard
A. Kuusisto, Consulting Engineer, St. Paul, Minnesota with
respect to Waterworks Improvement No. 1961-1 are hereby approved and ordered
filed.
(3) Such work being under 25% of the contract price for the con-
struction of the water main portion of the Waterworks Improvement
No. 1961-1, said contract having been awarded on competitve bids stating
hereby ordered to be added to the contract of the Erickson Construction
Company and the Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to
execute a change order to that effect.
(4) Waterworks Improvement No. 1961-1 is hereby modified in the
following respect: By deletion of the water main along the
west right-of-way line of the Northern Pacific Railway between First
Avenue and Second Avenue and the deletion of the easterly 1360 feet of
the proposed extension on Fifth Avenue from Egg Lake Road to the east cor-
porate limits.
The motion for the adoption fo the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by member Letourneau; and upon a vote being taken thereon, the
following members voted in favor thereof: Maslowski, Letourneau, Marier
and Burkard
and the following voted against the same: none
whereupon said resolution was declared passed and adopted.

I, the undersigned, being the duly qualified and acting Clerk
of the Village of Hugo, Minnesota, DO HEREBY CERTIFY that I have care-
fully compared the attached and foregoing extract of minutes of a meeting
of the Village Council of said Village held on the date therein indicated
with the original minutes thereof on file in my office and that the same
is a full, true and correct transcript thereof insofar as said minutes
relate to the proceedings of a preliminary hearing held on Waterworks
Improvement No. 1961-1 modifying said improvement, the ordering of said improvement, approving
plans and specifications and adding such work to the contract heretofore
awarded for Water-
works Improvement No. 1960-1.
WITNESS my hand officially as said Clerk and the official seal
of the Village this 23 day of May, 1961.
