WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA
A RESOLUTION DECLARING COST TO BE ASSESSED,AND ORDERING
PREPARATION OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 14197
FOREST BOULEVARD NORTH
WHEREAS,on May 15,2023,the City Council adopted a resolution approving an order regarding
a hazardous and substandard building located at 14197 Forest Boulevard North, Hugo, MN 55038,
due to a fire;
WHEREAS,on October 25,2023,the Court issued an Order for demolition and stated that the cost
of the demolition and expenses incurred to carry out the Order will be assessed against the property;
WHEREAS, the demolition of the residence at 14197 Forest Boulevard North, Hugo, MN 55038
was completed on February 14, 2024, and the cost for such demolition and expenses incurred is
$37, 676.75.
WHEREAS,the property is legally described in Exhibit A.
NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF HUGO,MINNESOTA:
1. The portion of the cost to be assessed against the property is declared to be$37, 676.75.
2. Assessments shall be payable over the course of 10 years, the first installment to be payable on
or before the first Monday in January of 2025, and shall bear interest at the rate of 5.25 percent per
annum from the date of the adoption of the assessment resolution.
3. The Finance Director shall forthwith file a copy of such proposed assessment in their office for
public inspection.
4. The Finance Director shall upon the completion of such proposed assessment,notify the council
thereof.
This Resolution was adopted by the City Council of the City Hugo on this
6th day of May, 2024. --
