RESOLUTION 2025-3 <br /> APPROVING FINDINGS OF FACT DENYING THE PETITION FOR STOP <br /> SIGNS ADDED AT 125TH STREET AT FENWAY AVENUE <br /> WHEREAS, Property owners from the Northern Pines Townhomes have signed and <br /> submitted a petition requesting stop signs to be placed on 125d' Street at Fenway Avenue <br /> North, making this intersection a three-way stop. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the petition at their meeting on February 3, <br /> 2025. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF HUGO, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does deny the petition, based <br /> on the following findings: <br /> 1. The placement of the stop signs do not meet warrants related to crash history, <br /> speed, traffic volume for vehicles or pedestrians, or vehicular delays. <br /> 2. The placement of stop signs at this location has the potential to create <br /> operational issues with Highway 61 due to limited distance from Highway 61 <br /> 3. A speed study conducted by City staff did not show a speeding issue perceived <br /> by the petitioner. <br /> 4. The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices states stop signs shall not be <br /> used for speed control <br /> ADOPTED by the City Council this 3rd day of February�25 <br /> Tom Weidt, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Michele Lindau, City Clerk <br />
