HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003.07.07 ORD 2003-376ORDINANCE NO. 2003-376 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA, SETTING AND AUTHORIZING FEES FOR FALSE ALARM RESPONSES PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE CHAPTER 37 OF THE CITY OF HUGO WHEREAS, the Hugo City Council has adopted Ordinance No. 1198-319 to regulate alarm and communication systems; and WHEREAS, said Ordinance authorizes the City, by Resolution, to set fees related to false alarms and a cost to be assessed if dishonored checks are presented to the city of Hugo for payment of the fees for false alarms; and WHEREAS, the City is desirous of specifying said feeds by ordinance rather than by resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, it is ordained by the City Council of the City of Hugo, Washington County, Minnesota, that Chapter 37 of the City Code of the City of Hugo is amended as follows: Section 1. Add the following as Section 37.02(c): Commercial Residential False Fire Alarms (per calendar year) Alarms 1-3 No charge No charge Alarms 4+ Actual costs of responding Actual costs of responding: Pumper Unit Responding Tanker Unit Responding Grass Fire Unit Responding Personnel Costs $250.00 per hour $150.00 per hour $100.00 per hour Hourly rate times number of personnel # t Other False Alarms (per calendar year) Alarms 1-3 Alarms 4+ Actual costs of responding: Pumper Unit Responding Tanker Unit Responding Grass Fire Unit Responding Personnel Costs Dishonored Check Fee: $25.00 per check Commercial Residential No charge No charge Actual costs of responding $250.00 per hour $150.00 per hour $100.00 per hour Hourly rate times number of personnel Section 2. At Section 37.02 delete the words "council resolution" and replace them with the words " This Ordinance". Section 3. If any portion of this Ordinance is held invalid or unenforceable by any court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not impair or effect the remaining portions hereof. Section 4. This Ordinance shall be effective after its passage and publication according to law. WHEREUPON, the foregoing Ordinance was duly made, seconded and approved this 7th day of July 2003.
