PRESENT: Olson, Peltier, Potts, Vail, Atkinson City Administrator, Ken Huber City Clerk, Mary Ann Creager Potts made motion, Vail seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 88-51, A RESOLUTION CANVASSING ELECTION RETURNS. VOTING AYE: Olson, Potts, Vail, Atkinson ABSTAINED: Peltier Motion Carried. Olson made motion, Vail seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 88-52, A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING COMPLETION OF PROBATIONARY PERIOD AND ADJUSTMENT OF SALARY FOR CITY BUILDING INSPECTOR. VOTING AYE: Olson, Peltier, Potts, Vail, Atkinson Motion Carried. Atkinson made motion, Peltier seconded, that the City of Hugo retain Pannell Kerr Forster to audit the city's financial records for the year 1988' All aye' Motion Carried. Atkinson made motion, Peltier seconded, that the city staff direct a letter to Mr. John Jergens, Washington County Commissioner District #1, thanking him for his efforts to upgrade roads in northern Washinton County. All aye. Motion Carried. The city received a letter from Charles King indicating his interest in serving as Hugo's representative on the Rice Creek Watershed District Board of Managers' The city supports Councilman Potts in his efforts to serve on the same board so no recommendation will be made for Mr. King. City building inspector, John Benson, is directed to have the American flag flying at City Hall illuminated. There was some discussion about the reciting of the Pledge Allegiance before all Council meetings, and it was decided to consider the possibility, and if implemented, not start until after 1/1/89' White Bear Township is checking with it's residents on Goodview Avenue to find out their opinions as to the possibility of blacktopping their portion of road at the same time as Hugo's portion of roadway in 1989' Peltier made motion Olson seconded, to adjourn at 7:33 PM.
