MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL
December 19, 1986
The special meeting was called to order by Mayor McAllister at 5:00 PM.
Mayor McAllister appointed City Administrator, Ken Huber, as acting secretary.
PRESENT: Hauer, Peltier, Potts, Schwab, McAllister
Mayor McAllister noted that the purpose for this evening's meeting was to consider
an amended tax levy resolution necessary to collect homestead credit budgeted for
in 1987 fiscal year. City Administrator, Huber, noted that the City Council failed
to include its budgeted homestead credit in the general tax levy for the City -
said levy certified in 1986 and collectible in 1987. He pointed out that although
the homestead credit comes to the City with the Local Government Aid check, it is
necessary to certify homestead credit with tax levy or the City will not receive
the homestead credit as budgeted. He pointed out that the expenditure and revenue
budgets for the City will not change from the budget previously approved and certi-
fied with the County prior to October 10, 1986. Mayor McAllister noted that this
was not the first time this error was made, and the City has not collected
homestead credit that the City budgeted for in previous years. Mayor McAllister
noted that the homestead credit was inadvertently left off of the general levy
and the City has received approval from the County to recertify the levy if done
prior to December.22, 1986.
MOTION: Schwab made motion, Peltier seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 1986-30, A
RESOLUTION CERTIFYING AMENDED 1986 TAX LEVY COLLECTIBLE IN 1987.

MOTION: Peltier made motion, Potts seconded, to adjourn at 5:15 PM.
