MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL
April 11, 1985
The special meeting was called to order by Mayor McAllister at 5:00 PM.
PRESENT: Peltier, Potts, Schwab, Hauer, McAllister
Attorney - Charles Johnson
Engineer - Tom Fast, representing Kuusisto
Rice Creek Watershed rep - C. T. King
This special meeting was called to further discuss the Oneka Lake water problem.
A new proposal was submitted by Kuusisto Engineering, with Tom Fast present to
explain the proposal. Alex Zaluckyj, adjacent property owner, was present to
discuss what affects the new proposal would have on his land. It was his feeling
that the additional release of water would result in additional flooding of his
property to the west of Oneka Lake Boulevard. He also requested a more defined
ditch to carry the water east of the culvert. Mr. Fast stated that they would take
more elevations to determine the degree of flooding to the west. Mr. Zaluckyj
also requested some guarantees that the ditch would be continuously maintained,
and some kind of written agreement, before he would consider anything further.
McAllister thought the City might have to reconsider proposals 3 and/or 4, as
previously suhmitted. It was determined that another meeting will have to be
scheduled to consider new date, and to make a determination as to what the
cost will be and how it will be paid for.
MOTION: Peltier made motion, Potts seconded, to adjourn at 6:50 PM.
