The meeting was called to order at 7:04 PM by Mayor Carlson, Roll was called: Carlson,
LaValle, Leroux, Bjorum present. Don Lease absent.
Minutes )f the July 16th meeting were reviewed and approved as presented.
Village claims were reviewed and approved as presented. Water department claims were approved
as presented.
Hugo Businessmen representatives, Eugene Peltier and Mark Houle proposed and reviewed with
the council the building of two additional tennis courts on the village park grounds. Motion
made and seconded that village council allow Hugo Businessmen to build two additional tennis
courts on village park ground subject to supervision of the village engineer, in a Westward
direction of the.present courts. Motion carried.
Motion made and seconded that planning commission send recommendation to village council
by August 20th in reference to application for a special use permit by Starmold. LaValle,
Leroux, Bjorum for, Carlson opposed. Motion carried.
Motion made and seconded that Howard Kuusisto inform Minnesota Pipe line Company of August
6th letter from attorney of additional information to be added to the letter of conditions
as drafted by the village attorney. Motion carried.
Motion made and seconded that applications of Wilbert Schuman for special use permit and
a junk yard license be table until August 20th. Motion carried.
Motion made and seconded that Grace Development Company application for land division be
tabled until August 20th. Motion carried.
Motion made and seconded that minor subdivision of McCullough be approved. Motion carried.
Motion made and seconded that a special use permit be granted to Tom Perzichilli to build
a commercial pole building for carpet and furniture store. Motion carried.
Motion made and seconded that planning commission review application for special use permit
for Grace Development Co. for council review on August 20th. LaValle, Leroux, Bjorum for,
Carlson opposed.
Motion made and seconded that information on Evergreen Hills 2nd and 3rd additions be tabled
until; 1. a policy statement from the Metro Sewer Board is obtained on the subject of exten—
sion of sewer to serve area outside the sewer district., 2. council can be shown that adequate
onsite sewage disposal system can be installed and maintained in each lot. Carlson, Leroux,
for LaValle, Bjorum opposed. Tied vote, motion failed.
Motion made and seconded that on the basis of planning commission's recommendation, the
subdivision of Evergreen Hills 2nd and 3rd additions be denied. Bjorum, Leroux for
LaValle opposed, and Carlson abstained. Motion failed.
Motion made and seconded that Washington County be hired to maintain village streets under
direction of Councilman LaValle. Motion carried.
Motion made and seconded that mobile home permit for George Miron be renewed. Motion carried.
Motion made and seconded that mobile home permit for Bob LaCasse be renewed. Motion carried.
Motion made and seconded that village attorney communicate with Northern Natural Gas in the
matter of condition for their letter of July 319 1973. Mption carried.

Motion made and seconded that Sandy Hanson be authorized to hire a secretary for planning
commission. Motion carried.
Motion made and seconded to adjourn at 11:50 PM. Motion carried.
