HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974.10.24 CC Minutes $$0�2 OCTOBER 24, 1974 MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF HUGO � The meeting opened at 10:50 AM with Mayor Lease, Irene Leroux, Jim Smith present. LaValle and Martin were absent. Attorney Charles Johnson and Engineer Howard Kuusisto were also present. The meeting was held to discuss and correct any errors made in the sewer assessments, as follows: 1 . Robert Ricci- 35020-4050 was 208 feet, should be changed. Changed to 138 feet frontage. 2. Edmond Granger-351353700 was charged 150 feet, changed to 117 feet. 3. Granger's DX - assessment remains the same with 2 REC'S. 4. Howard Moe-35020-2500-remains the same. 5. Adam Mikrot-35135-8700-was 158 feet-correct as stands. 6. Albert Ethier-platted lot-no change. 7. Harley Johnson-35019-2250-he felt they should have put in another line across the road for future development. 8. Frank Hueb1-►35020-2250 was 150 feet, changed to 125 feet. 9. Drexel Pugh-35029-2900-not to be assessed minus 125 feet, 1 REC 7 1 Stub Charge. 35029-2810 should be 114 feet, no REC & 1 Stub Charge. 10. Jim Wisner 35272-2250-was charged 104.20, should be changed to 100 feet. 11 . Ron Sparrow-35020-2650-was 125 feet, changed to 100 feet. 12. H. Snyder-didn't get assessment. Hick's property? 13. Joe Oman-Stands as is. 14. Sterling Ashby 120 feet minus 25 feet. Should be 95 feet. The Council recessed for lunch and reopened the meeting at 1 :50 PM for discussion from the floor. Residents registered to be heard as they came in. 1 . Mrs. Sterlilng Ashby was told 35020-2230 would be reduced to 95 feet. 2. Mrs. Ron Sparrow was told 35020-2650 would be reduced to 100 feet. 3. Ed Granger was told 35135-3700 was changed to 117. feet, and 35278-225 was changed to 125 feet. 4. Dean Vail's assessment had been miscalculated. 35135-7850 was 135 feet and should be changed to 108.5 feet. 5. Vern Peloquin-discussed, but solved nothing. To be further discussed. 6. Joe Oman-Trailer Court-objected to being charged full REC'S for the trailers. Was assessed 107 REC's could be changed to 106 REC's, and when given to Ehlers, include $7000.00 Connection Charge. 7. Stan Tikkanen for the White Bear School District objected to increase in REC charge from 1973 estimates. The basis for the REC was the number of students. 8. Fran Morissette-35135-5200 was charge 100 feet, 2 REC's and 2 stub Charges. Minus 1 REC and 1 Stub Charge. 9. Harley Johnson objects to 650 foot assessment when sewer is unusable to him. Contractor to check the site to see if they can put another line across the road. To be discussed further. 10. Ed Waugh-objected to method of arriving at REC's. Said their seating capacity is 160, not 200 as in the Liquor Application. Council will discuss this further. 11 . Robert Ricci-changed from 208 feet to 138 feet. He also objected to the method of arriving at REC's. Felt it should be based on usage. 12. Albert Ethier-No change. 13. Howard Moe-35020-2300-says he has 455 feet not 495 feet. He sold 50 feet to Bill Trepanier. He is to bing in survey to show this. 14. Mike Steiner questioned what the SAC charge was. Answer-Metro Charge. 15. Frank Huebl-Changed from 150 feet to 125 feet. 16. Joe Thill-to be taken off assessment roll, as the land belongs to Lindau. Must get Lindau's parcel number. OCTOBER 24, 1974 �. 17. Mrs. Virgil Sontag—objects to being charged more for odd shaped lot. They have 124.7 feet and were charged for 135 feet. This is to be discussed further by the Council.
