The meeting of the Board of Canvas opened at 7:07 PM. LaValle,
Martin, Smith present. Lease, Leroux absent.
The Board of Canvas reviewed the tally sheet of votes cast, and
took the following action: Motion kmade by Smith, seconded by
LaValle that Howard Schletty is duly elected Councilman of Ward III
of Hugo for a term of 4 years beginning January 1 , 1975.
Lee Martin resigned from his position on the Ordinance Committee
and recommedned that Jim Smith replace him. Martin based his
resignation on the criticism he was receiving from Ward III and
the statements made about. .the work of the Councilmen. He will be
in Alabama the 18th and 19th and therefore will not be in attendance
at the next Council meeting. He will turn his information regarding
the Ordinance Committee over to Jim Smith as there is an Ordinance
Committee meeting set up for November 20th and he will not attend.
Marvin LaValle then appointed Jim Smith to replace Martin on the
Ordinance Committee.
Motion made and seconded to adjourn at 7:13 PM.
