HUGO CITY COUNCIL
TIME: April 15, 1975 7:21
PRESENT: Lease, LaValle, Leroux, Schletty, Smith. Also present Attorney
Johnson and Engineer Kuusisto.
PURPOSE: To review street improvement plans for the sewered area
in the City of Hugo and other matters that come before
the meeting.
Kuusisto explained three (3) quadrant areas in report of July 1974. If
bids were received now, estimates of 1974 would be very close. Approximately
26,000 assessable feet per foot cost could be $8.00 - $9.00 per foot.
10,000 sq. ft. lot $440.00. 3i to 4 cents per sq. ft.
Vern Peloquin stated that he does not want any drainage or storm sewer
water running into his ditch from the Northeast quadrant.
Engineer Kuusisto, instructed by Mayor Lease, to come up with figures for
streets, curb and gutter, and storm sewer for each quadrant and report at
the City Council meeting of April 21 , 1975.
MOTION: Mayor Lease made motion, seconded by LaValle, for settlement
of Bayless problem and City participate in $1 ,200.00 payment
in settlement of lawsuit and authorization be given to City
Attorney for settlement.
VOTING FOR: Lease, Leroux, Schletty and Smith
ABSTAIN: LaValle
MOTION CARRIED
DUBIE ROAD MATTER:
Council reviewed matter and talked with former town board members.
It was Council decision that the street area involved was not a
public street.
TAUER CASE:
Attorney Johnson informed Council that Tauer case had been dismissed
in Court. Police Department to be instructed to reinvestigate case,
and matter to be reviewed for starting another suit.
WASHINGTON COUNTY MANPOWER:
Councilman Schletty reported having contacted Washington County
Manpower Commission in reference to hiring man from his program.
They will pay up to $10,000 salary for one year. P.E.R.A and un-
employment and hospitalization as extras.
POT HOLES IN STREETS IN SEWERED AREA.
MOTION: Motion made and seconded that $500.00 be spent for filling
holes on sewered area of City.
