AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 278 OF THE HUGO CITY CODE
BY CHANGING THE SPELLING OF JAMACA AVENUE TO JAMAICA AVENUE
WHEREAS, several communities in Washington County have indicated an
interest in changing the spelling of "Jamaca Avenue" to "Jamaica Avenue"
under the Washington County Uniform Street Naming System and Property
Numbering System, and
WHEREAS, the Washington County Public Works Department has requested
formal action of the municipalities in the County approving the change in
their jurisdictions, and
WHEREAS, there are currently no streets named "Jamaca Avenue" in the
City of Hugo, although there is potential for establishing such a named
street in the community, and
WHEREAS, Jamaica Avenue is the more common spelling in general use ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO,
WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA:
That the spelling of "Jamaca Avenue" under the City's Uniform Street
Naming and Property Numbering System shall be henceforth "Jamaica Avenue" .
Upon roll call , the following Council members voted AYE: Debra Barnes,
Andrew Goiffon, James Leroux, Marvin LaValle, Fran Miron
Voted NAY: None
Whereupon said ordinance was declared passed and adopted this 3rd day of
January, 1995.
