AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTERI80 OF THE HUGO CITY CODE, ENTITLED
"MOTOR VEHICLE AND TRAFFIC" TO REGULATE UNREASONABLE ACCELERATION
OF MOTORIZED VEHICLES.
The City Council of the City of Hugo hereby ordains:
(1) Add ARTICLE III - UNREASONABLE ACCELERATION OF
MOTORIZED VEHICLES as follows -
"ARTICLE III - UNREASONABLE ACCELERATION OF
MOTORIZED VEHILCES.
180-11 - UNREASONABLE ACCELERATION PROHIBITED.
It shall be unlawful for any person to start
or accelerate any motor vehicle other than an
emergency vehicle with an unnecessary exhibition
of disregard for the safety of others on a public
way within the City of Hugo so as to cause the
motor vehicle to swerve from side to side on the
roadway or to cause squealing or screeching sounds
to be emitted by the tires that can be heard by
others.
180-12 - VIOLATIONS. Any person violating the
provisions of this Chapter shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished
as set forth in Section 180-4 . "
(2) The official copies of the Hugo City Code shall be
corrected to reflect the within additions upon passage
and publication of this Ordinance.
