CITY COUNCIL
The meeting was called to order at 7:15 P.M. to discuss record keeping of
the city, establishing structure for review and issuance of burning permits
and to audit the 1976 books.
PRESENT: Spitzer, Vail, Schletty, and Irsfeld
ABSENT: Mayor LaValle
Acting Mayor Spitzer conducted the meeting. Council compared the final figures
for the receipts of the utility ledger and general ledger and verified the
same with no attempt to verify individual items listed.
MOTION: Schletty made motion, Vail seconded to accept the utility disbur—
sements for 1976 as listed.
VOTING FOR: Spitzer, Vail, Schletty and Irsfeld. MOTION CARRIED
MOTION: Schletty made motion, Vail seconded to accept the utility receipts
for 1976 as listed, no attempt at 100;/6 audit.
VOTING FOR: Spitzer, Vail, Schletty and Irsfeld. MOTION CARRIED
MOTION: Irsfeld made motion, Schletty seconded to accept the general dis—
bursements for 1976 as listed.
VOTING FOR: Spitzer, Vail, Schletty and Irsfeld. MOTION CARRIED
MOTION: Irsfeld made motion, Schletty seconded to ac — i lie general receipts
for 1976 as listed, with no attempt at 100'/ audit.
VOTING FOR: Spitzer, Vail, Schletty and Irsfeld. MOTION CARRIED
Council discussed different ways of recording receipts and the clerk is to
implement this into the bookkeeping. Councilman Irsfeld to continue working
on system with clerk.
Council tabled the reviewing of the fire permits to the next meeting February
7, 1977.
M. McAllister acting as liason person for police department suggested that
all full time employees should be paid every other week eliminating a three
week wait for a payroll. Acting Mayor Spitzer questioned the legality of
this as Hugo is a statutory city.
MOTION: Schletty made motion, Spitzer seconded to check with Attorney Johnson
regarding matter at the next meeting of February 7, 1977.
VOTING FOR: Spitzer, Vail, Irsfeld and Schletty. MOTION CARRIED
Clerk requested council to act on Nick Nitti application for a off sale in—
toxicating liquor license, in his incorporated name.
MOTION: Schletty made motion, Spitzer secolgded to approve the Off Sale In—
toxicating Liquor license to Nick Nitti Co., Inc, 13891 N. Forest
Blvd., Hugo, Minnesota for the year 1977.
VOTING FOR: Spitzer, Vail, Irsfeld and Schletty. MOTION CARRIED
MOTION: Schletty made motion, Vail seconded to renew the Workmen's Compen—
sation Insurance with the First State Insurance of Hugo for the
year March 1, 1977 through March 1, 1978.
VOTING FOR: Spitzer, Vail, Irsfeld and Schletty. MOTION CARRIED
MOTION: Schletty made motion, Spitzer seconded to extend meeting beyond
11:00 P.M.
VOTING FOR: Spitzer Vail, Irsfeld and Schletty MOTION CARRIED
MOTION: Schletty made motion, Irsfeld seconded to appoint Rodney Tauer to
the Roads Committee,
VOTING FOR: Spitzer, Irsfeld, Vail, Schletty. MOTION CARRIED
1 O Howard Schletty suggested that we keep the former Mayor Lease in mind for
future committees as he is interested in serving and is available.
MOTION: Schletty made motion, Irsfeld seconded to adjourn meeting at 11:15 P.M.
VOTING FOR: Spitzer, Vail, Irsfeld and Schletty MOTION CARRIED
