TIME: 7:10 P.M.
PRESENT: LaValle, Irsfeld, and Vail and Attorney Johnson
ABSENT: Spitzer and Schletty
The rural and urban taxing district was discussed. The rural area
has the same services as the urban area. The change is being suggested
for equalization and not to generate more revenue for the city.
The entire 36 miles is serviced by police, fire, and city hall. Some
of the sprawling area does not warrant some services.
Attorney Johnson stated that the taxing district was originated at
incorporation at 80% rural and 100% urban but the percentage does
not have to go from 80% to 100% any percentage could be determined.
MOTION: LaValle made motion Irsfeld seconded to set a
Public Hearing for March 13, 1978 at the Hugo
Elementary School at 7:00 P.M. to consider the
abolishing of rural taxing district.
VOTING FOR: LaValle, Irsfeld, and Vail.
MOTION CARRIED
MOTION: Irsfeld made motion, LaValle seconded to adjourn meeting
at 10:15 P.M.
VOTING FOR: LaValle, Irsfeld, and Vail.
