Minutes of the Proceedings of the SPECIAL MEETING OF THE HUGO
CITY COUNCIL JULY 23, 1979
The meeting was called to order by Mayor LaValle at 7:08 P.M. to discuss
the new Police Contract.
PRESENT: LaValle, Vail, Irsfeld and Spitzer
Police Chief Barth
MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Irsfeld to appoint Spitzer
as temporary secretary.
VOTING FOR: LaValle, Vail, Irsfeld and Spitzer
MOTION CARRIED
ITEMS DISCUSSED:
VACATION ACCRUAL - Two (2) weeks notice will be required in order to
qualify for unused vacation payment.
MEDICAL INSURANCE - Clerk to check on H.M.O. requirements regarding
the number of employees Hugo employs.
City may offer 50% of hospitalization insurance
premiums.
Councilman Irsfeld will check on current status of state workmens
conpensation statutes, relates to long term disability.
HOLIDAYS - City may offer nine (9) days.
SICK LEAVE - Accumulate at rate of one (1 ) day per month to maximum
of forty-eight (48) days.
City may offer cash payment for off duty court appearances - two hour
minimum.
City Clerk to get details on Blue Cross hospitalization plan.
MOTION: Irsfeld made motion, Vail seconded to set a Special Meeting
for July 31 , at 7:00 P.M. to further discuss police contract
with the attendance of the City Attorney.
VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Vail and Irsfeld
MOTION CARRIED
MOTION: Vail moved to adjourn at 9:17 P.M., Irsfeld seconded.
VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Vail and Irsfeld
