HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015.12.07 RESO 2015-60 RESOLUTION 2015-60 A RESOLUTION REGARDING PETITION RELATED TO FOREST ROAD, 180TH STREET NORTH AND FOXHILL AVENUE IN THE CITY OF HUGO,STATE OF MINNESOTA WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Hugo,Minnesota has received a Petition for Improvements signed by a number of residents on 180t Street North,Foxhill Avenue, and Forest Road petitioning for improvements of(without limitation)their various roads; and, WHEREAS,pursuant to law,the City of Hugo (the"City")is obliged to respond formally to the Petition based upon,among other things,recommendations of its staff; and, WHEREAS,pursuant to the recommendation of staff,it appears that the Petition does not identify with requisite specificity the improvements which are specifically needed and/or needed or specifically petitioned for and it does not appear, according to staff,that the Petition contains signatures of all property owners abutting the subject roadways; and, WHEREAS,it appears,however,that the residents have firmly expressed a genuine interest in exploring options with the City concerning necessary and desirable improvements to the referenced roadway and, consistent with City practice,the City wishes to consult closely and promptly with the residents to gain a better understanding of their opinions on the subject roadways and any necessary or desirable repairs or modifications. NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO,MINNESOTA: 1. Based upon the recommendation of staff, specifically the City Attorney,the Petition is respectfully declined. 2. The City takes notice of the expressed concerns and directs that staff coordinate with the neighbors and property owners on the affected street to accomplish neighborhood meetings to solicit input from the affected property owners about potential repairs and/or improvements.
