Adjournment BACKGROUND MEMO FOR THE EDA MEETING OF TUESDAY, AUGUST 12, 2014 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Staff recommends approval of the minutes from the June 10, 2014, EDA meetings as presented. 4. SITE VISIT - MICRA MANUFACTURING - 15587 FOREST BLVD The EDA will be making a site visit to Micra Manufacturing (formally Gusset Design) and getting tour of the facility from Craig Benson, president of the company. Micra Manufacturing specializes in CNC machining, fabrication, sawing, welding, abrasive blasting, and painting of metals. Mr. Benson will provide background on the business and show the EDA the pieces of equipment that are used to make the products they manufacture. We will meet in the office area and Mr. Benson will be waiting for us there. MINUTES FOR THE EDA MEETING OF JUNE 10, 2014 Weidt called the meeting to order at 5:06 pm. PRESENT: Klein, Houle, Gallivan, Puleo, Denaway and Weidt ABSENT: Arcand STAFF: Bryan Bear, City Administrator Rachel Juba, Planner Connor Schaefer, Community Development Intern APPROVAL OF MINUTES FOR THE EDA MEETING OF APRIL 8, 2014 Puleo made motion, Klein seconded, to approve minutes for the EDA meeting of April 8, 2014. All ayes. Motion carried. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FOR THE JOINT WORKSHOP ON DOWNTOWN HUGO MEETING OF MAY 8, 2014 Klein made motion, Gallivan seconded, to approve minutes for the EDA meeting of April 8, 2014. All ayes. Motion carried. UPDATE ON MARKETING OF CITY OWNED COMMERCIAL PROPERTY Juba stated that the City hired High Pointe Realty and Wakota Commercial Advisors to market City owned property located on Highway 61. They will be providing an update to the EDA quarterly. Bill Bergeson of High Pointe Reality provided updates of the efforts made to market the City owned commercial property. Bergeson stated that the property was posted on multiple online sites and a listserv. Bergeson also stated that he fielded calls regarding the property and answered questions. The land is experiencing interest, but no serious offers at this point. Bergson also stated that this is a busy time for the real estate market and that he recommend the City continue to be patient with the property. UPDATE ON JOINT WORKSHOP ON DOWNTOWN Juba gave a review of the City Council, Planning Commission, and EDA Joint Workshop on May 8th, 2014. Maxwell Research presented on the analysis of a study on the potential market for the development of Downtown Hugo. There also was a discussion on the City of Hugo Downtown Design Plan & Guidelines. The conclusion was made that the City continue to be guided by the existing guidelines. Weidt asked for a brief update on O'Reilly Auto Parts potential for locating in Hugo and willingness to abide by the Downtown Hugo Plan & Design Guidelines. Juba stated that Staff is in contact with O'Reilly Auto Parts. Indications are that O'Reilly still has interest in locating in Downtown Hugo. ADJOURNMENT Klein made a motion, seconded by Gallivan, to adjourn at 5:32 P.M. All ayes. Motion carried.
