Hugo, Minnesota Parks and Recreation Open Space Commission Meeting
March 13th 6:30 p.m.
Firstar Bank Building

I. Centex / Shade Tree Homes
A. With the extension of town homes we reviewed the outlot that is contiguous to the 80 acres
currently owned by the city. The commission unanimously agrees that we would agree to accept
the outlot but would not be willing to pay or reduce funds.
B. John will follow up on the trail plan on 132nd St. and keep this in mind for making connections.
II. Fenway Plan
A. This plan did not include any trail connections or sidewalks. The commission unanimously agrees
on a trail connection from Fenway to the north and a trail on 140th to the West.
B. The ordinance for trails and sidewalks should be followed. John will pull the ordinance to be
reviewed.
III. Bernin Property
A. If land is developed contiguous to the Bernin property the commission would be interested in
looking at land dedication vs. park fees.
IV. Lions
A. We would like to invite a member of the Lions to our next meeting to look at the proposed CSAH 8
realignment and the impact on the existing Lions Park.
V. Miscellaneous
A. New City Hall Open House April 15th 3-7 PM
B. Follow-up on trees to be planted in Beaver Ponds
C. Consider finding a spot to plant trees for future city use.
D. Work on assigning projects to each commission member.
