Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting
December 12, 2007
7:00 P.M.
NE Family YMCA
Call to Order
Chair Roger Clarke called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Roger Clarke, Pete Pedersen, Jim Taylor, Russell Schmidt, Dave Strub,
Melissa Parker, Noel Schmidt, Dan Gabrielli
Absent: Rachel Berger
Also Present: Chris Petree, Public Works Director
I. Approval of Minutes of November 14, 2007
Pedersen made a motion, Clarke Seconded to approve the minutes of the November 14, 2007
Parks Commission meeting.
All Aye. Motion Carried.
Il. Tour of NE Family YMCA
Tom Holland, Executive Director of the NE Family YMCA, conducted a tour of the NE Family
YMCA. Mr. Holland discussed the various programs that the YMCA offers which include:
aquatics, fitness, organized recreation and social events for seniors & youth. Mr. Holland also
discussed the demographics of the users of the NE Family YMCA. Mr. Holland completed the
tour with a Q&A session which focused around the group of community partners and the
desire to move forward with a plan for the future of the NE Family YMCA.
Meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m
