Call to Order Roger Clarke Called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. Present: Roger Clarke, Rachel Berger, Pete Pedersen, Dan Gabrielli, Noel Schmidt, Jim Taylor, Dave Strub Absent: Russell Schmidt, Melissa Parker Staff Present: Scott Anderson — Senior Engineering Technician, Debi Close — Parks Secretary I. Approval of Minutes of July 9, 2008 Strub made a motion, Taylor seconded to approve the minutes of the July 9, 2008 Parks Commission meeting. All Aye. Motion Carried. II. Oak Shore and Rice Lake Park Updates Senior Engineering Technician Scott Anderson informed on the progress of the parks. Oak Shore Park Work completed: Shelter, Concrete, Bituminous Trails and the Boulder Wall. Work remaining: Tables and benches, irrigation, final grad, landscaping and seeding. Rice Lake Park Work completed: Grade and Lighting (Bases and Conduit). Work remaining: Parking Lots, Irrigation, Seeding and Tree Trimming. III. Hanson Property Dave Hebert the Attorney for Ken Hansen has approached the City about Mr. Hansen's property North of CSAH 8, west of Irish Avenue being available for sale. The property is located north of CSAH 8, west of Irish Ave., and consists of approximately 120 acres. All commission members feel the property is prime location for a future park. Strub made a motion, Berger seconded to recommend the City Council proceed with the acquisition of the Hansen property. All Aye. Motion Carried. IV. Set Start Time for Park Tour The park tour will be on September 10, 2008 at 5:OOPM. Notice will go out to RSVP by August 29`" V. Other The Hugo Business Association made a request through City Staff, that a tree be planted in memory of Nathan Prindel at Frog Hollow Park. Pedersen made a motion, Berger seconded that the tree should be planted for memorial to Nathan and a plaque be placed by it. All Aye. Motion Carried. Adjournment Pedersen made a motion, Berger seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:55 p.m. All Aye. Motion Carried. Next Meeting: September 10, 2008
