Council Chambers, City Hall Call to Order Present: Cinde Morris, John Pontrelli, Mat Rauschendorfer, Nicole Schmid, Dave Strub, Ranell Tennyson, Tom Windisch Staff Present: Scott Anderson, Public Works Director Shayla Denaway, Parks Planner Debi Close, Secretary Tom Windisch called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm. Lions Park Update added to Agenda. I. Approval of Minutes from August Meeting Windisch made a motion, Pontrelli seconded to approve the minutes of the August 12, 2015 Parks Commission meeting. All Aye. Motion Carried. II. Irish Avenue Park Update Parks Planner Shayla Denaway updated on the City Council discussion held August 17, 2015. Concerns were brought up at the neighborhood meeting held with the Parks Commission on August 12, 2015. Residents were unsure of the radio controlled (RC) track/cars noise levels and the possible disruption with other current park uses. City Council and City Staff met with the Department of Natural Resources and Washington County Sheriff Department to discuss current activity and any concerns. City Council members agreed with the Parks Commission members to monitor activity for at the Irish Avenue Park for one year to then rediscuss uses of this property. All Parks Commission members agreed to continually keep residents informed of the interim use with reminder of the land purchase intent being for a large scale park with many amenities. III. Lions Park Update Parks Planner Shayla Denaway updated the Commission on the City Council's discussion at their mid -year budget review workshop. The City Council generally agreed that the cost of the planned park improvements was more than expected and asked the Parks Commission to strategies. The Parks Commission shared ideas and also discussed how to possibly use the recently dedicated land in the interim. IV. Recreation Program Annual Report Parks Planner Shayla Denaway provided and update on recreation programs. Tour De Hugo: Saturday, September 12th Movie Night in the Park: Friday, September 18 V. Adjournment Schmid made a motion, Pontrelli seconded to adjourn the meeting at 8:35 pm. All Aye.
