HUGO BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS AND APPEALS
September 24, 2009
Chairperson Schumann called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
PRESENT: Schumann, Weidt, Puleo
ABSENT: None
ALSO PRESENT: Bryan Bear, Community Development Director (CDD)
Rachel Simone, Associate Planner
Dennis Fields, Community Development Assistant
Approval of Minutes — June 25, 2008
Schumann made motion, Weidt seconded, to approve the minutes for June 25, 2009 as presented.
All Ayes. Motion carried.
Public Hearing — Variance from Shoreland and Rear Yard Setbacks
Rachel Simone, the Associate Planner, described the application to the Board of Zoning. The
applicant is asking for a variance from the shoreland and rear yard setback requirements to allow
construction of an addition to their home. It was in staffs opinion that the variance request met all
of the requirements necessary to approve the variance.
Puleo asked if there was a garage attached to the home.
Rachel explained that the applicant has a detached garage
Schumann commented that he remembered the applicants last application for their septic system
that would meet the requirements for their new addition.
Ranell Tennyson, the applicant, answered that they put in the new septic and mound system so
that it would accommodate for future additions.
Puleo asked how they access the garage because he did not see a sidewalk.
Ranell answered that they have stepping stones through the yard.
Schumann opened the public hearing.
Schumann closed the public hearing.

Puleo made a motion, Weidt seconded, to approve the variance from the shoreland and rear yard
setback.
All aye. Motion carried.

Schumann made motion, Puleo seconded, to adjourn.
All Ayes. Motion carried.
