CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION 94- 13 <br />WHEREAS, it is a goal and objective of the City of Lake Elmo to promote <br />the safest possible means of travel for non-motorized traffic including, but not <br />limited to walking, biking, roller blading, running; and, <br />WHEREAS, DeMontreville Trail North, from Highway 36 to County Road <br />13 has a high level of non-motorized traffic; and <br />WHEREAS, DeMontreville Trail North, has three to four foot unpaved <br />shoulders on both sides, that if paved and striped, could serve as a separation <br />from the motorized travel portion of this road. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: The Lake Elmo City <br />Council requests that the Washington shington County Board of Commissioners <br />authorize the paving of the shoulders of DeMontreville Trail North, from Highway <br />36 to County Road 13. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT because DeMontreville Trail North is <br />a multi - community, heavily used, scenic route for non-motorized traffic, as well <br />as motorized traffic, consideration of this improvement be done as expeditiously <br />as possible. <br />Adopted by the Lake Eimo City Council this 19th day of April, 1994 <br />C_ <br />WA <br />J oh n, iMayo .r- <br />Attest: <br />Mary Ku6ffner, CitVAdministrator <br />Motion Johnson <br />Second canli_u_ <br />Ayes 5 <br />Nays 0 <br />
