City of Lake Elmo <br />Washington County, Minnesota <br />Resolution 99- 19' <br />A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 99 -3 ADOPTED JANUARY 5, 1999 <br />WHEREAS, the Lake Elmo City Council adopted Resolution 99.3 on January 5, 1999; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Resolution 99 -3 authorized the City of Lake Elmo to participate in the <br />Reliever Airport Reform Coalition comprised of other cities and Townships who seek and <br />propose legislative changes, and authorizing the payment of lobbying fees not to exceed $3,000. <br />WHEREAS, certain legislative representatives have indicated a willingness to support <br />this legislation if Cities and Townships implement a Limit on Government Purchase of Airplane <br />Tickets. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Lake Elmo hereby implements <br />the following policy for all elected and appointed officials: <br />1. Public funds will not be used to purchase, or reimburse anyone for the purchase of an <br />airline ticket for a flight that is scheduled to take off or land at an airport in the <br />metropolitan area, as defined in State Statute 473.121, subdivision 2, between the <br />hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., except in an emergency. <br />2. The Lake Elmo Mayor and City Council or City Administrator shall determine <br />whether there is an "emergency" for the purpose of this policy. <br />Adopted by the Lake Elmo City Council this 2nd day of March, 1999 <br />Lee Hunt, Mayor <br />Attest: <br />Mary Kueffh'6r, City Administrator <br />
