,_ D_ .� <br />W �t Sit y~�, c `} T,.d <br />CITY OF LAKE ELMO, MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION NO 2007-011 <br />WHEREAS, the Interstate 94 (1 -94) Corridor is the principal east/west route for traffic thru <br />Ramsey Washington, and St. Croix Counties connecting St. Paul to the eastern metropolitan <br />area, and; <br />WHEREAS, the 1 -94 Corridor is experiencing robust employment and population growth, and; <br />WHEREAS, the 1 -94 Corridor is experiencing increasing levels of congestion, reducing mobility <br />in the corridor, and; <br />WHEREAS, there are no planned highway improvements to the 1 -94 Corridor in the <br />Metropolitan Council's 2030 Transportation Policy Plan, and; <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation has identified 1 -94 as a high priority <br />Interregional Corridor and is supportive of planning for mobility improvements in the Corridor, <br />and; <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elmo recognizes the need to plan for mobility improvements in the <br />1 -94 Corridor, and; <br />WHEREAS, this planning should take a multi- modal, highways and transit, approach to <br />maintaining Corridor mobility, and; <br />WHEREAS, maintaining mobility is necessary for the continued prosperity and economic vitality <br />of residents, businesses, and commuters throughout the Eastern Metropolitan area, and; <br />WHEREAS, the first step in planning for a multi -modal 1 -94 Corridor is to complete a <br />Transportation Feasibility Analysis which includes analyzing highway and transit improvements. <br />NOW THEREFORE HE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Lake Elmo supports the multi -modal <br />evaluation of the 1 -94 Corridor and a request of $1 million in State funds for the completion of <br />the 1 -94 Transportation Feasibility Analysis. <br />ADOPTED BY the Lake Elmo City Council on February 6,,_2007: -, .4 <br />Dean A.
