CITY OF LAKE O WASHINGTON COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO 2010-006 WHEREAS, the Interstate 94 (I - -94) Corridor Commission was established in March of 2009 to address transportation needs in the I -94 Corridor; and WHEREAS, the I -94 Corridor is the principal east /west route for traffic through Ramsey, Washington, and St. Croix Counties connecting St. Paul to the eastern metropolitan area; and WHEREAS, the I -94 Corridor is expected to experience future robust employment and population growth impacting communities like Lake Elmo and others; and WHEREAS, the 2030 Transportation Policy Plan has been approved by the Metropolitan Council and identifies the 1- -94 Corridor as a Transitway Corridor in need of additional analysis; and WHEREAS, the I -94 Corridor Commission is about to undertake the development and completion of an Alternative Analysis to determine the transit needs in the corridor; and WHEREAS, the development of a park--and-ride along the I -94 Corridor supports the vision and goals that have been developed by the Commission, which are generally consistent with the City of Lake Elmo's 2010 Comprehensive Plan (but noting specific location and traffic issues remain to be determined and agreed upon); NOW THEREFORE RE IT RESOL VED by the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo That the City Council supports the efforts of Washington County to seek state bonding funds for the acquisition and design of a park -and- -ride along the 1- -94 Corridor. RE IT FURTHER RESOL VED that the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo supports the efforts of the Commission and Washington County in ensuring local jurisdictions are considered active partners with the Commission and Washington County in addressing specific issues of location and traffic access and control..
