dune 1, 2000 <br />PROPOSED ORDINANCE CHANGE -CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />Required Parking Spaces <br />Public Parks, Ylayerounds and Playfield <br />Neighborhood Parks: Neighborhood parks are intended to serve neighborhood residents who <br />live within walking and biking distance of the park. "These parks <br />should be well served by tt'ails and sidewalks. <br />Required parking: No off-street parking is required. <br />Mini-Parks: Mini-parks, including small landscaped public spaces and <br />neighborhood tot lots, are intended to be either incidental to other uses, <br />drive-by sites or sites serving neighborhood residents or other uses <br />within walking distance. <br />Required parking: No off-street parking is required. <br />Linear Parks and Trail Corridors: The linear parks and trail corridor's serve as connections between parks, <br />neighborhoods and community facilities, serving bicyclists and <br />pedestrians. <br />Required parking: No off-street parking is required. <br />Open Space: Pat'k areas that serve primarily as open space for the preservation of <br />woodlands, wetlands and other natural features and are not <br />programmed for recreational use, should provide minimal public <br />access. <br />Kequired parking: No off-street parking is required. <br />Community Parks: Community parks are intended to serve the entire City. They should be <br />connected to City-wide trail systems and have off-streeC parking. <br />Required parking: 5 spaces per acre. <br />Athletic Fields: Athletic field serve both City residents and competing teams. They <br />should be connected to City-wide tt'ail systetns and have off-street <br />parking. <br />Reyuired parking: 5 spaces per acre, with 3 spaces per <br />acre additional, including sweet <br />parking, overflow parking, shared <br />parking or proof of need parking. <br />Special Use: Special use parks may vary greatly in their progranuned activities and <br />needs. <br />Required parking: Parking should be evaluated on a case-by- <br />case basis and provided as necessary to <br />adequately serve the public. <br />When a public recreation site has more than one(1) use designation, the areas must be divided for <br />determining the required parking space. <br />
