MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />MARCH 5, 2020 <br /> <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & <br />Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held on <br />the 5th of March in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road East in said city. <br /> <br /> Chair Dave Miller called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the following <br />members of the commission were present: <br /> <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Anna Abruzzese <br /> Ms. Rose Chu <br />Ms. Sharen Darling <br />Mr. Ron Horwath <br />Mr. Dave Miller <br />Mr. Tom Ray <br />Mr. Peter Schletty <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Bryce Shearen, Parks and Recreation/ <br />Community Services Manager <br /> <br /> <br />Horwath made a motion to approve the minutes from the January 9, 2020 <br />meeting. Darling seconded the motion. The motion passed 7 – 0. <br /> <br /> <br />The Community Services Manager reported on the successful pollinator <br />seeding event that recently took place. He stated that this was phase one <br />of the linear planting plan for the park. He explained the process that <br />would occur including weed management. He stated that Xcel Energy <br />funded this first phase of planting within the corridor. <br /> <br />Chair Miller asked if the same plantings would be used in future phases. <br /> <br />The Community Services Manager replied that there would be different <br />types of plantings in the different areas of the corridor based on the <br />different site conditions and amounts of sun. He stated that although the <br />City has funds budgeted, he has also submitted an application with Great <br />River Greening in an attempt to possibly gain additional funding.
