MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />April 2, 2009 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held on the 2nd day of March, <br />2009, in the council chambers of the city center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said <br />city. <br />Chair Linda Fahey called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of the <br />commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Linda Fahey, Chair <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />Ms. Ruth Steinwall <br />Ms. Katie Lolmaugh <br />Ms. Patti Sullivan <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Tom Maida <br />Mr. Dan Slain <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Mr. James Morelan, Park & Recreation Director <br />Ms. Dotty Norgard, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES: Steinwall made a motion to approve the March 2009 minutes, seconded by Lolmaugh. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />NEW <br />BUSINESS: ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION <br />Morelan reported that Arbor Day is Apri124, 2009, and because St. John's School <br />will not be open on that day, the city will be celebrating it on Friday, April 17"'. Morelan <br />stated that students from the 4°i grade class from Little Canada Elementary and the 3`d grade <br />class from St. John's School will assist with planting trees in the park. A location for the <br />planting and festivities will be emailed to each commissioner. Morelan invited all <br />commissioners to attend this event. <br />SPRING PARK TOUR <br />Morelan suggested doing the park tour one hour prior to the next meeting on May 7`~'. Both <br />Sanders and Steinert stated they would not be able to attend the meeting next month. Sanders <br />suggested that all who go on the tour to notice where any plantings would be needed. <br />Steinwall suggested going on the tour prior to the next two meetings because there are many <br />parks to visit in one hour and then they would not be rushed to see all in one evening. It was <br />agreed that they would do a park tour one hour prior to both May and June's regular meeting <br />dates. <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />
