MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br /> OCTOBER 8, 2009 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning <br /> Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 8th day of <br /> October, 2009 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br /> Little Canada Road in said City. <br /> Chair Dan Knudsen called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br /> following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION: Mr. Dan Knudsen <br /> Mr. Tom Dw•ay <br /> Mr. ScotC Barraclough <br /> Mr. Michael Everson <br /> Mr. Tom Fischer <br /> Mr. Jon Hall <br /> Mr. Chuck Peclvnamz <br /> ALSO PRESEN'T': Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br /> Mr. Kevin Helander, Cable TV <br /> Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br /> <br /> MINUTES The August 13, 2009 Planning Commission meeting minutes were <br /> approved as submitted. <br /> CUP FOR Mr. Tom Duray appeared before the Commission requesting approval <br /> COMPRE- of a Conditional Use Permit for a Comprehensive Sign Plan as well as <br /> HENSIVE a Variance to allow the repair and expansion of the existing <br /> SIGN PLAN & non-conforming pylon sign base to encroach farther into the required <br /> VARIANCE - setback. The property in question is located at 2526 Rice Street. <br /> 2526 RICE <br /> STREET - Duray described the property, noting that the building was constructed <br /> TOM DUI2AY in the mid-1970'x. The building size is 2,420 square feet and the space is <br /> divided equally between two tenants. The existing tenant, ASAP Signs, <br /> will remain in the building, and a lease has been signed with Papa <br /> Murphy's for the currently vacant space. <br /> Duray reported that he has been malting improvements to the building, <br /> parking lot, and existing pylon sign. He submitted an affidavit signed by <br /> the owner of ASAP Signs indicating that the pylon base was damaged <br /> approximately 7 years ago when it was hit by car. There was also damage <br /> to the sign pole and the cabinet. As a result, the cabinet was Left open for <br /> <br />
