He did order a few signs to place in park
areas frequented more often by children, such as ball fields and playgrounds, asking adults to
"voluntarily" refrain from smoking in order to be considerate of others using the park. The
signs will be installed before the next meeting. They shall be a standard rectangular
size...approximately 16" x 20".
PIONEER PK Sanders met with the Director at Pioneer Park's Centerville parking lot to decide on a location
FLAGPOLE for a new flagpole. They decided that it would be best to place the pole near the parking lot at
the edge of the park. Placement near the concessions building was not desired since it was felt
the flagpole would get "lost" due to light poles, trees, and the building. The pole will be
connected to the parking lot with paving. Currently, there is no easy way to get lighting in this
area, but lighting could be added in the future. The flag will be raised for special events, and
not flown after dark.
