464-5562 <br />(,1u.y 1Z, 17'2 <br />coati ti bizeo <br />1189 Main Street <br />Lino Lakes, Minnesota 55014 <br />RESOLUTION <br />REGARDING VANDALISM IN CITY PARKS <br />BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes <br />that, <br />WHEREAS, the various Parks within the City of Lino Lakes have been <br />the objects of vandalism over the past few years, and, on occasions, <br />have secured evidence of the damage being caused by juveniles, and it <br />has been reported to the City that the young people causing the van- <br />dalism have not been deterred by their experience with the juvenile <br />justice system. <br />It is therefore the belief of the City Council of the City of Lino <br />Lakes that action by the juvenile justice system must assist in <br />instilling in young people an attitude of respect and responsibility <br />and it is further the judgement of the City Council that causing these <br />young people, who have committed vandalism, to work in the various <br />parks in Lino Lakes to repair, maintain and develop the park system <br />would assist in confirming a respect for property and the rights of <br />others and would deter the young people so involved from committing <br />future vandalism. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of <br />Lino Lakes respecfully urges the juvenile judges of the County of <br />Anoka to consider this request on the part of the City that, as a <br />part of the punishment for; acts of vandalism by culprits who have <br />been apprehended and convicted of such an offense, would be the <br />requirement that they assist the Director Parks for a specific <br />period of time tc carry put such work as he may direct, said work <br />to be on the parks'in the City of Lino Lakes towards the repair, <br />maintenance, development and ihprovement of the park system. <br />Pas ;d this 12th day of May, 1975 <br />Ofered 'by: Mr. Jaworski <br />Seconded by: Mr. Zelinka <br />Roll call: All Ayes <br />William I.
