ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD MEETING FEBRUARY 28, 2007 <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />APPROVED MINUTES <br /> <br />DATE : February 28, 2007 <br />TIME STARTED : 6:34 P.M. <br />TIME ENDED : 8:15 P.M. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT : Mary Jo O’Dea, Martha DeHaven, Barbara <br />Bor, Kimberly Brouillet, Alan Traylor, Peter <br />Brown, Paula Andrzejewski <br />MEMBERS ABSENT : None <br />STAFF PRESENT : Environmental Coordinator Marty Asleson, <br /> <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Ms. O’Dea called the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m. <br /> <br />2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br /> There are no minutes to approve at this time. <br /> <br />3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />There were no changes to the agenda. <br /> <br />4. OPEN MIKE <br /> <br />Connie Grundhofer, past Environmental Board member and Lino Lakes resident, <br />talked about the upcoming Earth Day scheduled on Saturday, April 21 at Wargo <br />Nature Center. This year’s theme is “What did you do for the Earth today.” Ms. <br />Grundhofer expressed that in the past the Environmental Board has sponsored a <br />booth at this event. Ms. Grundhofer asked if there were any members willing to <br />volunteer at this time. The next Earth Day meeting is scheduled for March 15 at <br />6:00 p.m. at Wargo Nature Center. <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson stated this is the 17th or 18th year Lino Lakes has been involved in <br />Earth Day. People volunteer to clean up the parks, streets, etc. There has been <br />some trouble this year with fundraising. Friends of the Park have helped in the <br />past and the organization has since dissolved. Mr. Asleson has talked to the <br />Jaycees to see if they can help with fundraising. We are waiting to hear from <br />them at this time. <br /> <br />Volunteers receive a free lunch from 11:30 to 12:30 at Wargo. Earth Day is <br />opened to the public at 1:00. There are many booths, arts and crafts, face <br />painting, popcorn, petting zoo, etc. <br /> <br />1 DRAFT MINUTES
