Meeting of the Council of Lino Lakes February 25, 1963 <br />Members present as follows: Mayor Kelling; Trustee's; Backlin, Speiser, Heck - <br />enliable, Clerk Hauer. <br />Minutes of the preceding meeting were read and on motion by Speiser, seconded <br />by Backlin, they be accepted as read. All voted in favor. <br />Attorney Babcock, reported on the Lawrence Murphy ease. Clerk Hauer sent the <br />following letter by registered mail to constitute notice of the suspension of <br />his licence. The letter reads as follows: <br />At a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Lino Lakes, <br />Minnesota, the following resolution was made, seconded and unanimously <br />approved by the council: <br />WHEREAS, L.D. Murphy and Larien Waldon, his waitress, at the Apple <br />Inn, have been convicted of permitting sale of beer to minors and <br />selling beer to minors respectively and whereas L. D. Murphy is pre- <br />sently holder of a license from the Village of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, <br />to sell non-intoxicating malt liquor on said premises with dancing <br />privileges, <br />IT IS RESOLVED: <br />That the license of said L. D. Murphy at the Apple Inn in the Village <br />of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, to sell non - intoxicating malt liquor shall <br />be suspended between 12:01 A. M., Friday, March 8, 1963, until mid- <br />night on Sunday, March 17, 1963. <br />Emily Rehbein, treasurer, reported the balance in the Village treasury to be <br />$5,305.01, as of January 31, 1963. Receipts of cigarette and liquor tax revenues as <br />follows: $2,282.42 cigarette tax and $1,374.11 liquor tax. <br />Motion by Kelling, second by Eeckenliable, for the building inspector and village <br />engineer to assign proper house numbers on Main Street. All voted in favor. <br />Mr. Backlin, reported on his meeting with the village engineer and the Circle <br />Pines Utilities Commission, regarding repairs to village streets, damaged by <br />utilities installation. Motion by Backlin, second by Speiser, that $647.49, <br />would be accettable for damages. All voted in favor. <br />Mr. Speiser, reported there is no one to donate labor for cleaning brush from <br />Village Parks. Motion by Speiser, second by Backlin, to spend up to $150.00, <br />for cleaning up the park property. All voted in favor. <br />Motion by Speiser, second by Kelling: <br />WHEREAS the continued occupancy of Lena Billik of the present dwelling <br />house on the Village park property will be of benefit to the Village <br />in that her presence on the property tends to prevent vandalism and <br />destruction of village property, provides the presence of an adult on <br />playground premises and lends assistance to park operations with respect <br />to turning on flood lights, maintenance of the Skating rink etc, <br />It is resolved that Lena Billik be allowed to continue to occupy said <br />residence and that a yard light and electric power connection to the <br />dwelling house be erected at village expense and that the village pay <br />the reasonable costs of the electricity consumed. <br />All voted in favor. <br />
