96 <br />Lino Lakes Council meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. April 26, <br />1965. Anderson, Backlin, Speiser and Domning present. Dupre and <br />Zelinka absent. <br />Speiser moved and Backlin seconded that minutes be accepted as read. <br />Mr. Handy and Mr. Lafond of the VFW <br />posed VFW Hall. Developers of West Oaks <br />(Bald Eagle) appeared and discussed their preliminary plans. <br />Plumbing ordinane was discussed, and more discussion will be held at <br />the next meeting. <br />George Gottwald discussed recovery of village money for flood fighting, <br />and recommended that the council study the clerical work involved to <br />recovering this money. <br />There are 3,083 people in Lino Lakes, according to the new census. <br />Police protection was discussed, and existing police protection appears <br />to be satisfactory in Lino Lakes. <br />One bid for gravel was received from Richard Schuh. Backlin moved, <br />Speiser seconded that the bid be accepted. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Backlin asked advice on the maintenance of streets in Baldwin <br />Lake Motel and trailer park. The streets are the property of the <br />trailer court and no council action can be taken according to Locher. <br />A letter of appreciation for use of hoses during recent flood fighting <br />is to be sent to the Fire Departments of Circle Pines and. Lexington. <br />Mr. Backlin commented on the condition of the roads, and on dikes and <br />filling done because of high water. <br />John Juleen requested permission to put an ad in the paper concerning <br />burning permits.
