1 <br />1 <br />The August 9th meeting of the Lino Lakes Council was called to order at <br />$: p.m. by Mayor Domning. Members Speiser and Zelinka were absent. <br />Mr. Al Ross was sworn in as the new Council member, and was temporarily <br />appointed to the Planning Board. <br />Minutes of the previous meeting were read. One correction was made, after <br />which the minutes were approved. <br />Because of anticipated development in the area, sidewalk revision plans <br />for the bridge on County Road 14 between Hugo and Centerville were brought <br />in for approval. A letter confirming this approval was requested. <br />Upon recommendation of Gottwald that we accept the plans as submitted far <br />the Interstate Bridge, Ross motioned and Backlin seconded, that Mr. Gott- <br />wald write this letter of acceptance. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Handy of the VFW asked for a 3.2 permit for September 12th for their <br />dedication party. Domning stated the new ordinance would be studied and <br />the matter brought up again at the August 23 meeting. Mr. Handy will <br />also bring his proof of insurance to this meeting. <br />Mr. Frank Gallagher, Superintendent of the St. Paul Water Department, was <br />present and discussed with the Council the possibility of the Water Board <br />disposing of approximately 3 /4's of the land which they own on Baldwin <br />Lake. The Council will take this matter under advisement with the Attor- <br />ney, and will discuss again at the next meeting. <br />Mr. Backlin reported that a request has been made by Fran Burque regard- <br />ing work on 64th. On motion by Backlin, second by Ross, to have the en- <br />gineer stake out the corner by Otter Lake Road and have any necessary <br />work done by equipment when there for other road work. Motion carried. <br />Motion by Backlin, second by Domning, will have 77th graded with culverts <br />put in at 77th at Peltier. Motion carried. Two other streets that were <br />approved for road work last year were not done, but will be this fall. <br />The engineer reported on the water situation and recommended the Council <br />write to the Corps of Engineers giving them the information we have. A <br />section map provided by the Planning Commission is to be enclosed with <br />this letter. <br />Mr. Ltallier again discussed with the attorney who is obligated to pay <br />for culverts that are necessarily installed for new home owners. Although <br />the problem was discussed at length, no council action was taken. <br />Domning reported the applications for a full time village maintenance man <br />are now available. This is to be discussed at the August 23 meeting. <br />Voter registration again came up for review. Costs and possible use for <br />this fall will be investigated at once. <br />Possibility of getting a new police car was discussed. Police will get <br />a copy of the county specifications used for bid, and Mr. Locher will re- <br />port on procedure at next meeting. <br />Bills were approved, and meeting adjourned at 10:00p.m. <br />
