144 <br />A special meeting was held in the offices of Carley & Associates at 7:30 pm <br />on March 4, 1966. All members present. <br />After discussion of the second set of plans submitted by the Highway <br />Department, pertaining to the crossing of 35W from Lexington to Highway 8. <br />Backlin moved, with second by Ross, that we approve the plans as sub- <br />mitted. Motion carried.. 35W to the north boundary of the line and the <br />1* miles from Lexington to Highway 8 will be given additional attention <br />by the engineer before this work is completed. <br />Discussion was also held on a study to be made by the Village Engineer <br />pertaining to the laying of pipes under 35W for possible future sewers.. <br />The cost of this was given as a probable $5,000 now vs. a probable $30,000 <br />after the completion of 35W. Ross moved that our engineer prepare an <br />estimate for the area needed to be surveyed, and the approximate cost of <br />this stucly. Backlin seconded. Motion carried. <br />Meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m. <br />MiLiriu er <br />s acce <br />Clerk <br />arch 14, 1966 <br />The March 14, 1966 meeting of the Lino Lakes Council was called to order <br />at 8:00 p.m. by Mayor Domning, Roy Backlin absent, all other members <br />present. <br />Minutes of the last regular meeting and the special meeting on the 17th <br />were read. Ross moved, with second by Speiser, minutes be accepted. <br />Motion carried. <br />The Clerk read a letter from the engineer's office on the sewer study. <br />Although thebudget did not include this item, Ross moved that we make some <br />arrangements for financing the project, andproceed with the study. Second <br />by Speiser, motion carried. <br />Treasurer's report was read. <br />George Gotwald reported on the meeting between Domning, Backlin, Burque, <br />Commissioners Johnston, Fields and O'Bannon, and himself, on March llth <br />when a field trip was made to determine if road construction was feasible <br />for a service road where 20th Avenue had been split by 35E. A meeting <br />between the Council, Commissioners and the Highway Department will be <br />arranged just as soon as possible to try and arrive at a solution. <br />Domning reported for Mr. Backlin that signs have been set up for 64th <br />Street, and that the new truck has been delivered. <br />Speiser questioned whether or not the low bid received last year on the <br />blacktopping for the parks was still good. Bingo has been discontinued <br />and the money in the treasury will be used for fencing around the tennis <br />courts and other improvements. Mr. Gotwald will check the bid with Schifsky <br />and report at the next meeting if the same price still prevails. <br />
