CITY OF ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION 15 -082 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING SUMMARY PUBLICATION FOR ORDINANCE <br />2015 -06 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of St. Anthony has adopted the above referenced <br />ordinance; and <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 412.191, subdivision 4 allows publication by title and <br />summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing maps or charts; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the <br />public of the intent of Ordinance 2015 -06. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that: the following summary of Ordinance 2015 -06 <br />shall be published in the official paper in lieu of the entire ordinance. <br />SUMMARY PUBLICATION <br />Ordinance 2015 -06 <br />An Ordinance Approving CenturyLink Franchise Agreement <br />AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A FRANCHISE TO QWEST BROADBAND SERVICES, <br />INC., DB /A CENTURYLINK, TO CONSTRUCT, OPERATE, AND MAINTAIN A CABLE <br />COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM IN THE CITY OF ST.ANTHONY; SETTING FORTH <br />CONDITIONS ACCOMPANYING THE GRANT OF THE FRANCHISE; PROVIDING FOR <br />REGULATION AND USE OF THE SYSTEM AND THE PUBLIC RIGHTS -OF -WAY IN <br />CONJUNCTION WITH THE CITY'S RIGHT -OF -WAY ORDINANCE, IF ANY, AND <br />PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS HEREIN; <br />The City Council of the City of ST.ANTHONY ordains: <br />STATEMENT OF INTENT AND PURPOSE <br />Qwest Broadband Services, Inc., d/b /a CenturyLink ("Grantee"), applied for a cable franchise to <br />serve the City. The City adopted separate findings related to the application and the decision to <br />grant a cable franchise to Grantee, which shall be incorporated herewith by reference. The City <br />intends, by the adoption of this Franchise, to bring about competition in the delivery of cable <br />services in the City. <br />Adoption of this Franchise is, in the judgment of the Council, in the best interests of the City and <br />its residents. <br />
