ANTHONY <br />2 <br />a HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY MEETING <br />5 MARCH 9, 2004 <br />6 <br />7 CALL TO ORDER <br />8 Chair Hodson called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. <br />9 <br />10 ROLL CALL. <br />11 Commissioners present: Chair Hodson; Commissioners Stille, Thuesen, and Faust. <br />12 Commissioners absent: Commissioner Horst. <br />13 Also present: Executive Director Michael Morrison and City Attorney Jerry <br />14 Gilligan. <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 I. APPROVAL OF MARCH 9,.2004, H.R.A. AGENDA. <br />18 Motion by Commissioner Thuesen, seconded by Commissioner Stille, to approve the March 9, <br />19 2004, Housing and Redevelopment Authority Agenda as presented. <br />20 <br />21 Motion carried unanimously. <br />22 <br />23 I1. CONSENT AGENDA. <br />Motion by Commissioner Faust, seconded by Commissioner Thuesen, to approve the Consent <br />al Agenda, which consisted of: <br />26 <br />27 A. H.R.A. Meeting Minutes of January 27. 2004: and <br />28 B. Claims. <br />29 <br />30 Motion carried unanimously. <br />31 <br />32 111. PUBLIC HEARINGS. <br />33 A. Resolution HRA 04-005: re: Consider nroaosed acquisition of property by exercise of <br />34 power of Eminent Domain. and Resolution HRA 04-006. re: Condemnation of CUB <br />35 parcel. <br />36 Chair Hodson opened the public hearing at 8:06 p.m. <br />37 <br />38 City Attorney Gilligan noted both resolutions on the agenda signified the same resolution; <br />39 therefore, the HRA only needed to vote on them once. <br />40 <br />41 Mr. Gilligan explained the HRA received a request to authorize the acquisition of the CUB <br />42 parcel and certain related property interests under its power of eminent domain pursuant to the <br />43 terms of the Silver Lake Redevelopment Agreement. He noted, under Minnesota law, the HRA <br />44 needed to hold a public hearing before it could authorize that action. He indicated this action <br />5 was requested by the redeveloper in order for it to comply with the requirements of its Purchase <br />Agreement for the CUB parcel. He noted his memo of March 2, 2004, stated no action would be <br />taken by the HRA to commence a condemnation proceeding with respect to the CUB parcel <br />48 unless direction was given by the developer following the adoption of the resolution.
