ANTHONY <br />HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY MEETING <br />4 <br />5 June 25, 2002 <br />6 <br />7 CALL TO ORDER. <br />8 Chair Hodson called the meeting to order at 8:16 p.m. <br />9 <br />10 ROLL CALL. <br />11 Commissioners present: Chair Hodson; Commissioners Sparks, Thuesen, Horst, and Faust. <br />12 Commissioners absent: None. <br />13 Also present: Executive Director Michael Morrison and City Attorney Jerome <br />14 Gilligan. <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 I. APPROVAL OF JUNE 25, 2002 H.R.A. AGENDA. <br />18 Motion by Commissioner Thuesen, second by Commissioner Sparks, to approve the June 25, <br />19 2002 Housing and Redevelopment Authority Agenda as presented. <br />20 <br />21 Motion carried unanimously. <br />22 <br />23 IL CONSENT AGENDA. <br />Motion by Commissioner Horst, second by Commissioner Thuesen, to approve the Consent <br />Agenda, which consisted of: <br />26 <br />27 A. H.R.A. Meeting, Minutes of May 14.2002; and <br />28 B. Claims. <br />29 <br />30 Motion carried unanimously. <br />31 <br />32 III. GENERAL POLICY BUSINESS OF THE H.R.A. <br />33 A. H.R.A. Resolution 02-010 re: Finding a parcel to be occupied by a structurally <br />34 substandard building. <br />35 Executive Director Michael Momson stated that this resolution identified the vacant <br />36 Hardee's building and the Exhaust Pro building and was a test that they needed to <br />37 measure whether or not they met the tax increment test. He continued that they met the <br />38 test, and would qualify under the tax increment laws. He added that this resolution <br />39 simply gives them some options. <br />40 <br />41 Morrison stated that he thought that they had up to three years to create a tax increment <br />42 district to capture that increment and use the buildings. <br />43 <br />44 Councilmember Horst asked if there was enough time for the Apache redevelopment. <br />445 Morrison stated he felt that there was enough time and that they were looking to set up the <br />tax increment districts by early next year. <br />4 <br />
