ANTHONY <br />CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />MAY 12, 2009 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Faust called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br />Mayor Faust invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ROLL CALL. <br />Present: Mayor Faust; Councilmembers Roth, Stille, and Thuesen <br />Absent: Councilmember Gray. <br />Also Present: City Manager Mike Morrison and Police Chief John Ohl. <br />CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br />ITEMS. <br />I. APPROVAL OF MAY 12, 2009 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br />Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Roth, to approve the City <br />Council Meeting Agenda of May 12, 2009. <br />Motimi carried unanimousiy <br />II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br />A. Recognition of the Citizen's Academy Graduates Police Chief John Ohl presenting <br />Police Chief Ohl introduced the item and stated Officer Tressa Sunde will be recognizing the <br />graduates of the 2009 St. Anthony Citizen Academy. <br />Officer Sunde stated this is the fourth year of the Citizens Academy. She is honored to be part of <br />this and to help people understand what they do as police officers for the residents they serve. <br />She stated it is commendable to have the citizens commit to this eight -week program. Officer <br />Sunde provided an overview of the Citizens Academy Program and stated there were 21 <br />participants in the program this year. <br />Citizens Academy graduates Joshua Ochocki and Jonathon Dozier addressed the City Council <br />and stated their support of the Citizen's Academy. Mr. Ochocki stated the interactive activities of <br />the program were very beneficial. It gave him a better understanding of what the Police <br />Department does and gave him more respect for the officers. Mr. Dozier stated the course was <br />interesting and they got to put themselves into what police officers do. He stated the best <br />example was the shoot/don't shoot course, and that he learned a lot about how police officers <br />approach the situation. <br />
