I CITY OF ST. ANTHONY 2 CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES 3 MARCH 13, 2018 4 5 CALL TO ORDER. 6 7 Mayor Faust called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 8 9 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. 10 11 Mayor Faust invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. 12 13 ROLL CALL. 14 15 Present: Mayor Faust, Councilmembers Gray, Jenson, Randle, and Stille. 16 Absent: None. 17 Also Present: City Manager Mark Casey, Liquor Operations Manager Mike Larson, Police Chief 18 Jon Mangseth, Fire Chief Mark Sitarz 19 20 21 CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING 22 ITEMS. 23 24 I. APPROVAL OF MARCH 13, 2018 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. 25 26 Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve the City 27 Council Meeting Agenda of March 13, 2018 as presented. 28 29 Motion carried 5 -0. 30 31 II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. 32 33 A. Presentation by Ramsey County Sheriff, Chief Deputy Frazer. 34 35 Chief Deputy Frazer provided a summary of what is going on in the Sheriff s office. He stated 36 2017 was a busy year and over 100 employees were hired. The Sheriff is committed to be a 37 diversity hiring with 60% or higher for diversity. The annual Hot Dog with a Deputy events will 38 start within the next few weeks. Other initiatives are partnering for SWAT services with various 39 Cities within the County. It has been a good year with a lot of change with the addition of 100 40 new employees. 41 42 Councilmember Stille stated he has heard it is difficult getting candidates. Chief Deputy Frazer 43 stated they have not had problems getting candidates. 44 45 Mayor Faust stated he spoke with the Police Chief and the Fire Chief and there have been no 46 issues with the Sheriff s Department. He thanked Chief Deputy Frazer for the model he portrays 47 to everyone.
