City of Falcon Heights <br />City Council Minutes <br />October 27, 1999 <br />Mayor Gehrz called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. <br />PRESENT: Gehrz, Gibson Talbot, Hustad, Jacobs, Kuettel, Phillips, Engineer Maurer. <br />CONIlVIUNITY FORUM: <br />Mr. Glen Olson of 1780 Snelling Dr. came forward to talk about his concern of the <br />unkempt area on the median strip along Snelling Avenue from Hoyt to Roselawn that <br />hasn't been maintained by the state. He said the state mows it once or twice a year and <br />most of the summer it is 12-14 inches high with the bulk of it being weeds. He said he <br />has called MnDOT with his complaint but has received no satisfaction and requested the <br />city to give him another contact at MnDOT. He would also appreciate the city putting <br />some pressure on the state to keep this strip maintained. Engineer Maurer said he would <br />provide the name of a contact person to the staff. Mr. Olson also expressed some <br />dissatisfaction with the city signs and the fact that they often are unreadable at night. <br />• NIlNUTES OF OCTOBER 13, 1999 <br />The minutes of October 13, 1999 were approved. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />Councilmember Kuettel suggested that item No. 3 dealing with Y2K insurance be <br />removed from consent agenda and placed on the policy agenda for discussion. <br />Councilmember Gibson Talbot moved approval of the remaining consent agenda as <br />follows: <br />1. General disbursements and payroll <br />2. Licenses <br />3. Consideration of Resolution 99-23 authorizing application for a SCORE recycling <br />grant from Ramsey County <br />POLICY AGENDA: <br />Consideration of Resolution 99-24 ordering a feasibility study for alley reconstruction. <br />Engineer Maurer informed the council that the second half of the alley reconstruction is <br />scheduled to take place in the year 2000 and in order to initiate this project, the council <br /> <br />
