The
changes being proposed in the city's commercial zoning code is
the result of implementation of the comprehensive plan
guidelines. He stated that the recommended changes followed a
lengthy study beginning in the fall of 1992, meetings with
business owners, and a public hearing held by the Planning
Commission on July 26, 1993. Mr. Hosington reviewed the changes
and explained the zoning categories and their uses. He indicated
that those attending the public hearing did not question the
zoning code changes but were more concerned with the commercial
development moratorium presently in place.
