• DRAFT DRAFT DRAFT FALCON HEIGHTS CITY COUNCIL MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 8, 1993 • • The meeting .came to order at 6:10 p.m. Councilmembers Gibson Talbot, Jacobs, Gehrz and Ciernia were present. City Administrator Susan Hoyt and City Attorney Peter Bachman were present. Those in attendance discussed the status of the city's police contract with the City of Roseville. City Attorney, Peter Bachman, explained the requirements for terminating the contract for January 1, 1995. City Administrator, Susan Hoyt, discussed how the terms for terminating the contract for January 1, 1995 were met. Attorney Bachman said that he reviewed these terms and they appeared to meet the termination requirements. Councilmember Ciernia asked if Roseville demonstrated an interest in re-negotiating the current police contract. Administrator Hoyt said that Roseville had not responded to requests to re-negotiate the contract for 1994. In April and May, Lauderdale invited Falcon Heights to discuss the police contract with Roseville when Lauderdale was reviewing proposals for police service. In July, 1993, Roseville met with Hoyt to provide the 1994 police service costs for Falcon Heights. The council briefly discussed possible approaches to developing and requesting proposals for police service if the council decided to terminate the contract and request proposals for police service starting on January 1, 1995. They also discussed the desire to re-invite Roseville to submit a proposal if the council decided to go out for RFP's. Councilmembers requested that a staff report on the status of the police contract with discussion of possible termination and a possible timetable for an RFP be on the September 15, 1993 city council agenda for discussion and possible action.
