An agreement was approved between the
school district and the city for financial arrangements and other requirements
governing the assessment for these improvements not to exceed 5250,000. The next
step is the adoption of a resolution ordering the improvements so they can be
assessed to the school district. Gehrz moved adoption of Resolution R-94-08 and
motion carried unanimously.
RESOLUTION R-94-08
I~~
L~ J

A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT AT FALCON HEIGHTS ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL, 1393 GARDEN AVENUE
ROSEVILLE AREA HIGH SCHOOL REQUEST FOR USE OF COMMUNITY PARK TENNIS
COURTS
Carol Kriegler, Parks & Recreation Director, appeared before the city council
to present the request by Hans Peterson, Roseville Area High School athletic director,
for use of the Community Park's tennis courts in the spring and fall of 1994. Kriegler
stated the high school's tennis courts are unavailable due to impending construction.
The courts would be used Monday through Friday from 2:15 to 4:30 p.m. for practice
(until 5:30 p.m. on meet days) from April 1 to June 1, 1994 and from September 6
to mid-October, 1994.
Sue Gehrz expressed some concern about the non-availability of the courts for the
community's young people. She questioned if it was possible to promote building
relationships between the high school tennis players and the younger people who
come to the courts. Tom Baldwin suggested the Park and Recreation Commission
look at some alternative activity for the young people during this time period.
Council requested staff and the Park and Recreation Commission explore the
possibility of the Roseville Area High School tennis teams' providing or assisting in city
youth recreational tennis programs. If approved, Jacobs suggested that staff inform
the community about the arrangement by community newsletter and local papers.
After further brief discussion, Gibson Talbot moved to grant the request of Roseville
Area High School to use the Community Parks's tennis courts at the above times and
