The Roselawn pathway is also unplowed and complaints have been received that pedestrians are forced to walk in the street. Quotes were obtained from snow removal contractors to clean the pathways and the prices ranged from $6,000 to $ 10,000 with no cap. Staff is now contacting other communities to determine if they have equipment suitable for this type of work and if they would be willing to allow its use in Falcon Heights. Judy Pinsky, 1723 Hamline, informed council that she is one of the residents with children walking to school, that they could get bus service back, but the children enjoy walking and she wanted the walkway cleared. She felt the city had to deal with the snow as they made a commitment to keep it clean and it is the city's responsibility. Baldwin commented on the fact that to accomodate residents' wishes, the area between the pathway and the street and the pathway itself, was narrowed which increases the problem. He stated that the city is investigating ways to clear the pathway but it cannot be cleared immediately. CITY AMBULANCE AND RESCUE SQUAD TO RE-ENACT RESCUE SCENE FOR "RESCUE 911" TELEVISION SHOW Council discussed the proposed appearance of the ambulance and rescue squad on a segment of the national television show "Rescue 911" which will require re-enactment of an actual rescue scene. Rescue Squad Captain Ray Brown has assured that this will not interfere with response to any emergency calls received at the station. Council indicated their approval of the project which will be filmed December 13 - 16. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 8:08 P.M.
